I bought a small travel size of this because I was very skeptical even after reading all of the reviews. Overall a beautiful fragerence that I can see myself using up and repurchasing in the future. Then it comes the raspberry with some jasmine and lime. I like the underlying scent, it is nice, but I'm just getting heaps of pepper and it's covering up the beauty of what is in here..:-/. I can warmly recommend Aura to all women over 15! Impressed !
Thanks. My body chemistry likes the original Red Door too but the original one is my MIL's signature scent and I doubt my husband wants me to smell like his mother, lol! After pondering over what you all said, I think that after much hesitation still, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Revealed wins!
I tried it and it is nice, but having never been a fan of the Elizabeth Arden fragrances, I don't find it real interesting, it is a typical fruity floral, very forgettable, but I guess if you want to own an EA fragrance, this would be a nice option , as it smells nice..definitely an improvement over the dated synthetic smell of the original. I get a lot of licorice, and it reminds me very much of Loverdose Diesel. I decided to give myself a spritz to see if I would get a different reaction. Great job Elizabeth Arden. The name fits it perfectly because it does have a luxurious velvet smell. I wasn't expecting this at all and I'm very happy. I'm impressed that this scent can express so many women's personalities. I am surprised how much I love this recent Arden release - this is a fresh, yet slightly spicy womanly easy to wear scent which isn't like all the watery floral patchouli-fruitiness which is in abundance at perfume counters as of late, to my nose it is well blended and very classic yet contemporary and I am loving the musky notes. Had a small sample size had to get the big one. It's an interesting scent, but unfortunately has zero sillage and longevity on me. I LOVE the jasmine in this! A lovely floriental that turns smooth and amberish on my skin while retaining a certain sweetness and muskiness i love. I'm glad that I did because this is such a lovely scent after it dies down a little bit.
It is a perfect Holiday (Christmas/Winter) fragrance with its richness and warmth. Red Door is such an appalling scent to me so I was really scared it was going to be something similar, but it's really not. I must agree with several reviewers that the scent in the beginning reminds me of Thierry Mugler's Alien with a little sweetness but the jasmine disappears in the drydown and a raspberry, woody scent remains. I suppose very scent sensitive people won't like it but I'm not for sensitive people! However, where I live, Elizabeth Arden is not sold anywhere other than discounters like Ross or TJ Maxx.
