Was wearing the NB Beacons but decided to change up to this shoe. They are very light weight for the level of cushion/protection they provide, and as they've broken in a bit the upper just fits like a glove - snug everywhere without being tight anywhere. I do wish wish the drop were 4-6mm instead of 8mmand I don't love the stretchy laces. I replaced my Peg Turbo 2 with these. If I could make a suggestion to Brooks it would be to lower the drop to 4-6mm (maybe add more cushioning to the forefoot? I recommend you buy for the features of the shoe, not the brand. Too much cushioning is unstable and shaking, but this shoe absorbs the damage well. I use this shoe for tempo and threshold, and recently race day. The shoe is light enough that widening it will hardly affect the weight. Cause I am careless and I had the $. The Hyperion Tempos are definitely more firm than the ZoomX/React of the Turbos, but still have a nice bounce to them from the DNA Flash Midsole. I liked these at first. The Hyperion Tempo has a more comfortable upper and more durable outsole. My biggest complaint is the short tongue, would like it to be a cm longer, if you use a runners loop to tie down the heel the laces are sitting on your sock at the end of the run. I'm 6'1" 176 lbs. When my foot started to hurt only in these after about 30 total miles I retired them. Tempo's laces are stretchy and a bit odd. I initially liked this shoe; the fit is spot on in my regular size, the upper is simple and doesn't have any hotspots or weird overlays, and it's light. I run about 50-60 miles a week.
