I note that I called Adorama and one person told me the set was fully compatible with my SB-800(s) and one told me for manual flash power but not TTL. on checking the SB-400 manual it does not appear to be compatible with any Nikon film SLR(s) not even the Nikon D6. I didn't see that it offers a slave mode either. A speedlight used on the X2T-n hot shoe might be used as fill flash in either TTL BL or Manual but that's not possible. Press the SEL button for one second and the top single arrow will be changed to up and down arrows. In his review Ken makes a few flamboyant remarks as he always does.

If I like the TT350N I might follow it with a Godox TT685N speedlight and X1T-N trigger. I am extremely frustrated now too, called supplier I ordered it from, they were good enough to take my money but not tell me they are 6 weeks away!!! The manual packed with the X2T-n notes that Ni-MH batteries are not recommended as performance may suffer. Given that the SB-700 works as expected in TTL mode I would guess that and SB-900 and SB-910 would also.
If I don't use the X2T-n's hot shoe the built quality won't be as much of a problem as there won't be much stress on the transmitter used that way. Once you are done with the setup, the SB-800 is ready to receive the signal from the master flash unit and fire the flash.
I'm holding off as I want to make a large purchase but after if I'm able I'm planing on a Godox X2T-N and two X1R-N receivers.
It's small, inexpensive and incredibly wide. (permalink) However, the SB-28DX is far ahead of and more powerful than the 600, (I think the 28DX's guide number may even be close to the SB-900's). So all I need is the cable basically, since I alreade have two sb800. The Flashpoint branded ones are still available and I will now commit to a full set for all of my SB800's I need to buy a radio or IR transmitter/receiver system to use my sb 800 on stand off camera. The exception as noted was the SB-800(s) only performed correctly when using the FV Lock.
Using Ni-MH batteries I found exposure compensation, -3 to +3 stops, did not function correctly most of the time. And also with this configuration (sb800 radio or IR slaved) will the sb800 able to controll another sb 800 or i need an other receiver? Energizer lithium batteries might be OK if there initial voltage isn't too high and does not damage the X2T-n and X1R-n units.

After I bought the SB-600, I never bought another flash that couldn't be set to shoot repeating flash sequences. The build quality of the X2T-n isn't as much of an issue unless one would be installing a speedlight in its hot shoe for on camera fill. 2. 6. My plan was to eventually get the Xpro as the fully featured transmitter but will start with the X2 to test functionality. Anyway I'm disappointed in the light duty build of the X2T-n and X1R-n units. I'm disappointed that the build quality of the Godox X2T-n and X1R-n units aren't to the same quality standard as my Phottix Strato II transmitters and receivers. Oddly the old Nikon SB-400 in an "Integrated Flash" though it's options are pretty limited. My previous experience with Chinese radio sync sets is with Phottix Strato II sets which have a very robust feel and high quality switches and buttons.

I found that there was a consistent common characteristic in flash models that could be set to a repeating mode. I had to remember to push the "set" button before shooting. The Nikon Z30 is the company's latest 'creator' focused mirrorless camera, a 21MP APS-C model made to be more vlogging friendly than ever. I read the manual for the X2T-n a few weeks before so I probably had a little understanding of the X2T-n but it is quite logical. I might pull the trigger on the X1T and X1R next week, only about 80 bucks. The ISO has to be bumped to 400. Why? Ideally, Godox would have you using one of their transmitters on camera talking directly to their own speedlights.
Ideally I would love to stay all Nikon with my speedlight setup. What I want is first: manual control of three remote groups in 1/3 stop increments. It may also command the SB-800(s) on X1R-N receivers. The D70, d2h and up all have "Creative lLighting" and i-ttl. The SB-400 can also be used with FV Lock.
Here are some manuals found at the bottom of this page I own physical Nikon SU-4 slaves so the SB-400 could be used with one of those in SU-4 Auto or Manual Mode.
