Of course the challenge presented with someone like me was I like food, good hot scrumptious food and coffee and tealist goes on. I was amazed how lite and durable this equipment was. Only 8 oz but seems to be exactly what is needed for small servings. The highly visible indentations and measurements on the side also come in handy especially for those freezedried meals that require "precise" measurements. Don't waste your time. It works well and keeps the handle on the fry pan down as well. The fry pan scorches immediately, and the food stuff sticks stubbornly. Do not attempt to cook anything in the pan. In my opinion the product doesn't justify the price tag. I LOVE this cookset! I ordered this along with the Trek 700 Mug and the Mini-Solo so I could compare them all. Bought this product a few months ago and used it on a backpacking/car camping trip to Colorado (Snowmass Wilderness Area). version. It does the job. You can put 2nd canister in to keep everything in one place. It's not my favorite cookset, it's small for a meal and too big for a cup of coffee, but it sure fits the Bushbuddy perfect. Other than that I really like the size and weight. Will store the larger fuel canister with the giga power stove in the case and still has room for a small packtowel. If your rehydrating in pouches, and drinking from your pot only, the 750 is probably a better fit. This pot fit the bill. Yeah I wouldn't bring it on every trip but for trips where I want to do some good cooking it doesn't seem to heavy for it's capability. I figured I'd clean much like I do my cast iron, minus the soap. It has hard problems with real food.

First of all, the mesh sack that comes with it is to big. My only complaint is the fry pan / lid doesn't sit well on the pot. When I first got the 900, I melted snow in it and, like an idiot, didn't put water in first.

It boils water fast due to titanium and it's light and a strong metal. Love it. Pretty good cookset--as it should be for the price. So light and tough! Durability is not going to be on par with stainless steel, but that is to be expected from titanium. It doesn't fit well on the pot. I wanted a pot I could use for both solo and groups. (Okay, maybe a few) but none that compromised its integrity. This pot is great, except it is narrow for an MSR Whisperlite International. COVERAGE Plan starts on the date of purchase. Snow Peak then looked to evolve by shifting its focus from the mountaineering equipment of the past to the camping equipment of the future. The only thing I do not like is there is no snap or strap to hold this shut when it is in your pack.
I am a trail club member and a long distance hiker. This is the one I ended up keeping. It didn't render this pot useless though, as I have used it in conjunction with the Giga Power stove for a couple of years even with a warped bottom.
I boiled some water, stuck in my cozy and added some bronners. I ended up getting some garden velcro thats used to secure plants to stakes. I use the fry pan for egg on very low heat (simmer). I am a solo packer, but often go out with my buddy as well. Source: bought it new Great build quality and lightweight but it just wasn't for me. The heat warped the bottom of the pot and now it makes a noise like the top of a saftey far lid popping back and forth. This lil pot is great and super light, however I will say that the sack it comes with is too big for the pot, but still my favorite :). It sits on top of the Snow Peak GigaPower stove perfectly and without slipping, even on slightly uneven surfaces, and boils water in a jiff. The cookware itself is was completely free of defects out of the box. I really like having a frying pan bannock, pancakes, muffins, stir fry, sausage, fried potatoes, fried fish, good food. We're based in Bristol.. Unless I'm wrong and there is a lighter/better option out there. This item comes with an oversized mesh bag. I have used this this pot for the entire AT and CDT and everything in between and since.
This set is great. It fits very loosely. One to search for a supplier, the second to clarify the question with the manufacturer. The only downside I can see is the lid. Most folks dont seem to apreciate the frying pan tops on the Snow Peak 900 and 1400 Ti pots. Its great. Water for Backpackers Pantry, check! I bought this pot because I loved the other Snow Peak stuff, like th 700 pot, insulated mug and my favorite, the titanium stove. The measuring marks on the inside of the pot were very convenient. It really does every meal we need and has enough room to cook a pasta dinner with sausage and cheese for two people. We share this one pot and pan and that's ALL for cooking gear on the trail.
Not heated yet so maybe the metal hasn't flexed (would it get hot enough or does titanium flex?? March 4, 2017 I am still using the same fuel canister. Handle also gets pretty hot. I grabbed my gear and cookset only to discover two small holes in the bottom rim of the pot - several inches apart from each other and about two millimeters in diameter each, they looked like acid drips or something boring through the titanium. In the morning, I can easily heat water for two cups of coffee and a double instant oatmeal. Just remember that .2 mL is about 1 cup and .4mL is 2 cups and youll be fine. The lid functions as a small frying pan, however, for boiling water it keeps the heat in. Great set for backpack cooking. There's too much room allowing the cookset to move around and anything that you had in there becomes free to float around in the bag also. After trying to make several meals at home in my test kitchen. TIP: Do not put the pot or pan on any self-contained cooking unit dialed up high with nothing in it. This is definitely a great solo set. -The dual pot and pan combo with collapsible handles is a nice feature that gives you the option to cook different items in. Malfunctions covered after the manufacturers warranty. This is a great minimalist cookset if you need a larger pot than the Snowpeak 700 mug. I love this cookset. If it were $15-$20 cheaper it would be a good deal. If you own other similar sized cooking gear you might find a lid that works better. The bigger gas can for snow peak did fit, but not with the stove in the carry box. The lid doesnt fit tightly which is good for general purpose but makes for a lot of noise rattling around in the pack. Then boil more water for clean up, its just a piece of cake using these pots. Like Russian dolls that can cook, I have all the mug/pots and plate/pans I need for any activity. I cook on a Primus stove and I have had absolutely no problems with it. Seems to work! This cookset is the perfect, ideal cookset for a solo backpacker or for 1-2 people. While still using a simmer I burned the bottom. It's neat that the 700 fits in the 900 and the 900 in the 1400 but that's way more gear than I need so personally I don't use anything but my 900. The carrying case does not fit the cookware snugly, allowing the lid and my contents of stove and fuel to jostle about. The handle on the miniature fry pan is not stable enough. oz.
The frying pan lid was my main attraction to this line of products and anything smaller than the 900 would be tricky to cook, stir, etc in. The set weighs in at just 8.5 oz. And since the handle is already down, you don't need grabbers to lift it. It's a great size, and the lid/frying pan can double as a shallow cup for hot cocoa. So be prepared to clean it up right away. I heat the water up, pour some water in my soup cup, and then have plenty of water left to cook my pasta. I picked this up to replace a similar one that was stainless steel. I used over the campfire to heat water to conserve fuel on stove, and it warped from heat. I have to say I wasnt to pleased with this cookset. I've heard others complain about the non-stick option for titanium pots/pans.
I first heard of this product through my brother, and I watched him use it in Glacier Nat'l Park. The downfall of this pot is the heat transfer.
I use the frypan for my oatmeal bowl. It's also easy to knock off accidentally when cooking. The pot is big enough to boil 1L of water. The cooling after boil is fantastic. Been using this for several years now. Its been very durable over various hikes and hasnt given me a single problem. If you buy a larger fuel canister, however, it will fill up most of the empty room in the Trek 900 (with the Giga Power in there, too). The pan looks rather useless but when put to use is actually very handy for eating out of.
I just crossed the straps and sewed them together then cut the excess. I have come to the conclusion this cook set is only good for boiling water or lightly steaming foods. Unless you secure it it comes apart and rattles as you hike. This was a great idea. Aluminum is still the best conductor for food. Handles will get hot during cooking. I still have a stainless steel cup and it seemed to boil 8oz of water slower than this pot was able to heat up 2.5 cups of water. I also did 2 instant packs of oatmeal. I bought this and paired it with the MSR pocket rocket and it works phenomenally together. (The water boils about 45 seconds faster than the MSR Pocket Rocket 2 says it should.) The measurement on the side is a great help, and the titanium frame is very sturdy. One complaint is the lid does not stay on and the fry pan is not useful for much. This is a very light cookset for someone minimizing weight. great set, has what you NEED.i do the same thing as a previous reviewer, and freeze a filet mignon for the first day and cook that on the pan, works great for that (other than fuel consumption)just enough water boiling capacity for 2 peoples food, perfect for exactly 2 ramen packetsits the simple things in life, im sure it could be improved on with handles and such but im a happy camper with this one! I did cook some mac and cheese (entire TJ box) so could be for 2 people/servings easily. Well this is my first titanium cookware, and wanted a small cook pot for solos and to use with a small alchol stove , it's a great little cook set titanium is awesome to cook in bake in only down side to this 900 the lid with handle out is not balanced, and it's not as versatile as the 1400. The meticulous design has also been engineered to nest with the Snow Peak Trek 700 and 1400 sets, creating an integrated and eminently practical all-in-one system.
