Since then, Ryobi has introduced a couple of 4V-class tools, mainly different styles of screwdrivers with built-in batteries. Always wondered why Ryobi never introduced any more new Tek4 tools. If you purchase something through a link on the Tool Craze site, Tool Craze may get a small share of the sale. Its perfectly possible the battery only works one direction. The tools also have to be bigger and heavier to cover the extra shell. Its possible but like Stuart says unlikely as they also havent hentioned it.

I think the stick style battery that fits entirely inside the handle is a great idea for light-duty low-power tools like these. Maybe they can get creative with it and have it charge or charge from several of their USB Lithium batteries at once.
On more premium products, like Milwaukees RedLithium tools and accessories, I like to be able to choose between built-in charging or connecting the battery to a charger.

I just want a decent tool not a fashion statement. This product is covered by a 2-year warranty. I would bet its an oversight on the marketing department for what would be a common/boring feature.
