The Lochsa Lodge is so peaceful and remote, I honestly dont know how to being to describe my experience or this wonderful location. Upgraded quarters have fireplaces and private patios; some feature bathtubs and/or TVs. Food prices have gone up significantly and the food was terrible. Relaxed hotel featuring rooms & suites, some with whirlpool tubs, plus a pool & free breakfast. Beautiful place to stay! Clean spacious high ceiling dining area beautifully rustic! Unfortunately, my mom had to have emergency surgery. Then, its time to venture out onto the Clearwater River aboard a raft thats equipped with a specialized fishing frame. The food is excellent better than our 5 star meal at the whitefish lodge that cost us an arm and a leg!
After getting our order taken we then proceeded to wait another hour and a half before we received our appetizer, which was infuriating because the other half of our party (seated at another table) received their entrees at the same time. The Staff, especially Cinda and Ruben were astounding. THE definition of laid back cool, and immaculately kept! Lovely and if you love the outdoors (fishing, rafting, kayaking, natural hot springs, snowmobiling, gold panning, smokey quartz hunting) then you will love the cabins and great food here. The new owners bring a great deal of experience and passion to their venture but maintain the honor and culture built over the many years this lodge has operated. I had to hang out in the Lodge for 3 hours due to work related issues.

Stopped in here on the way to Missoula and was pleasantly surprised. They are beautifully furnished with king or twin beds and are well-equipped with a table, chairs, and a wood stove. The interior of a log cabin at River Dance Lodge, the perfect setting to disconnect from day-to-day life. Especially Dustin. Prices are what one should expect for quality and location. We received our drinks pretty quickly but then were delayed about 25 minutes to get our order taken.
And great recommendation on the Selkirk Abbey Huckleberry beer; so good I bot another to take home. A small selection of cooking items are available at the cafe for those who are self catering or the nearest grocery store is around 15 miles away. Casual mountainside lodging within a national forest, featuring rustic rooms & cabins. The lodge was under-staffed, making for a rude and unprofessional staff that can't handle the stress of serving a bigger group. Wife had the Reuben and I had a Diablo burger and both were on point. We were awakened multiple times in the night by fishermen and late guests arriving 1: 30 am someones car alarm went off car doors slamming, people visiting and drinking beer in the parking lot nothing awful just didnt jive with the quaintsetting. Bathroom/shower cabin was well stocked, clean, and private!
Cabins very from very rustic to cabins with small but functional bathrooms and propane heat. Very disappointing that they would just let the charges stay when it was charged incorrectly on there end. We could not stop talking about the staff and everyone there! I love the rustic cabins and the restaurant, store and bar are clean, and the staff is super friendly and helpful! There is a building near by with bathrooms for the cabins that don't have them. Dustin was so accommodating. Great getaway spot in the beautiful Lolo Hot Springs Mountains with Hot Springs to visit nearby. Just stayed here in August, cabin was great and most of the staff were nice and helpful. Long story short, if you have all day to waste just waiting for mediocre food then go ahead and eat here, but if you have anywhere to be it would do you better to go hunt for your own food. Each is equipped with a kitchen and a three-burner gas grill on the porch, as well as tiled bathrooms and private hot tubs where you can wind down at the end of the day.

There is a general store with snacks and cold drinks, a gas pump and main lodge with a gift shop, restaurant, bar, pool table and a short walk down to the river below. This is the perfect place to disconnect from the daily hustle of life. Arrived right before 11pm and they had a note on the main check-in lodge door with a map directing us to our cabin and keys waiting for us in our cabin. Loved the Biscuits and gravy (and I travel around and try all types of biscuits and gravy) and the burritos are huge and great too. And the food was amazing. Its located just 90 miles east of Idaho on Highway 12 and enjoys easy fly-in access from Missoula, Montana, or Spokane, Washington. The menu features locally caught wild salmon, hearty steaks, and lasagnas, with vegetarians also well catered for.
