Their stores are in full fall force right now. I smell lots of sweet vanilla, with a hint of sandalwood, but mostly, I think this smells like fresh baked cookies. It is a classic. Try it, you might just like it! This is one scent I have loved the longest and will continue to love always!
I haven't had this fragrance in a long time and I'm sure with time and reformulations it is not the same scent that I've known and loved. I got the body lotion and it smells like vanilla sun-screen. and was so embarrassed when I sniffed my hands and said, "Oh gosh, it's ME!" I've tried this in the shower gel, scrub, and spray forms and I love all of them. I do smell some vanilla and sugar and nothing else compared to the other notes mentioned here. I bought this blind and, after a short time, passed it on to a friend. I love Warm Vanilla Sugar, but wish the Eau De Parfum was still available. I also remember being a rowdy teen dousing myself (and my clothes) with this juice to cover up the smell of cigarette smoke. It's not a like nor a dislike.
It smells like burnt sugar. For me, this is my GO-TO winter scent! Beautiful, warm, cozy and sweet vanilla with a subtle touch of sandalwood. the original vanilla vanilla by the Body Shop (like 7 years ago) was my fave plain vanilla scent but they have reformulated it and now it just smells too sweet and synthetic. Body Mist Pairing With Body Lotion Review. I got some bottles and I'm using them up by spraying this under almost every perfume I wear cuz I love vanilla always and it rarely messes up a frag. seriously, i usually love gourmand scent, but this is just sickeningly sweet and got me a headache everytime i wear it, i try to like it,but i cant, its just too sweet, smells like burnt sugar with coconut shaving.but yea.the guys give me compliments when i wear it,maybe cos the vanilla? I received this when I was 13 and I remember a richer smelling vanilla. i love this scent. Thats because the original BBW splashes didnt have any. Now its just vanilla- slightly synthetic but not offensively so. Unfortunately, the new reformulated version is worse. Well we have the shops here now so not an issue. It's very vanilla-y complimented by the smell of brown sugar. It will start with a millisecond of alcohol when you first spray and just syrupy sweet sugar next. I wear this for myself - I figure comfort perfume is better for me being less calorific than comfort food! Become a member of this online perfume community and you will be able to add your own reviews. The vanilla got more pronounced in the drydown (the scent is still mostly linear), and I just felt quite conflicted by the time the perfume faded.
I like to wear this scent to bed or first thing in the morning on a cold day and wear it as I'm waking up with my coffee. Nothing groundbreaking, but rather pleasant. if you have another vanilla smell that just needs a kick extra of warmth, pick this up for layering! This smells great on me. It's warm, slightly sweet, not sickenly sweet, and very comforting, like sitting by a fire, drinking hot chocolate and eating marshmallows! This strongly reminds me of Vanilla Fields by Coty. Im sure it was quickly learned by their product development people that making this a spray-on splash would be much more convenient. I only bought it because it was on sale.
its so cozy and warm.
My bottle does not look like the current version. I've never been sadder about a scent! It was created by looking at popular notes in perfume at the time, trends in Europe and America. Smelling like a cookie never fails and my bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar doesn't last long. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Yummy! This is more of an effortless scent that is "attractive".
I used to buy and it smelled of a very dry vanilla with hints of sugar. I'm not a fan of plain vanilla scents at all so I was surprised to smell this and actually like it a little lol! Too bad I cant find it in Australia!
And you can pick up the notes of rice and coconut, I mostly use it in the winter. Like when it's raining outside and you're at home with a good cup of coffee with a good book. It became famous when Oprah featured it as one of herFavorite Things in 2003. I own the "fragrance mist" version of Warm Vanilla Sugar. It dries down to the most awesome waxy, honey-vanilla musk goodness. Out of curiosity I decided to compare the notes from the version of Warm Vanilla Sugar listed here with the ones listed on Bath and Body Works website for the most current version. I have finally got it yesterday and l really like it. Yes, it's a BBw scent, but it's truly amazing and one of their beat(riceflower&shea too, smells similar.) This scent is worn proudly on the skin as such: a skin scent. Alas. However slathering. This fragrance has been a favorite of mine for many years. This is just awesome for the ladies. The true Warm Vanilla Sugar died a long time ago, and I could never locate the same scent since.
the smell makes me feel so happy. It was ablind buy its smells like burnt brown sugar but not to heavy smells delicious gourmand its for fall or winter type of smell i like it but i dont think i will repurchase again there are better gourmand sugary sweet other scents out there. It's sweet, but not too sweet due to, I'm guessing, the hints of cocunut and sandalwood. It does smell like sugar cookies baking in the oven with a little hint of something.that hint of something makes menot dislike it much, let's put it that way. Warm Vanilla Sugar will always be a staple in my collection. This scent got my bf hooked on me haha xD I collect perfumes and body mists so a repurchase from me means a lot. It smells like a melted sugar and very linear. Can't get enough. It's not very complex, but it is very warm and comforting, and I found myself enjoying this when I wanted something more subdued. Probably my most casual smell, and it does not linger at all so I constantly have to reapply. i second julieladybug, i like the VS vanilla lace more.but this is a great warm scent too, definitely for the colder seasons! I had good luck with the Eau De Toilette a few years back (my boyfriend still reminisces on the scent this left in his car), but it was discontinued. This smells quite dated to me. Very pretty and sweet Vanilla Scent, this is nonoffensive vanilla, great for every day, all year round if you're a sucker for vanilla like me!

I just bought Tokyo Milk's "Sugar Sugar" (not in the Fragrantica DB) and it smells EXACTLY like B&BW's Warm Vanilla Sugar (both of which I like.) The original formula especially is to die for, really. This to me smells to friendly, too basic to be sexy..if I couldn't afford hypnotic poison I'd probably wear this at night. I mean /hate/.
smells good, but i don't want to smell like fresh baked cookies and cakes. It smells wonderful, and I've had many people compliment me on it. I love fall, so this is one of the few things I like about the current BBW over the old BBW. It's way more complex. Very nice and comforting. The worst is the body lotion, it stinks now, smells so strongly of artificial cheap sandalwood. Fragrantica Trends is a relative value that shows the interest of Fragrantica members in this fragrance over time. anyways, i like the fact BBW doesn't test on animals but do they use paraben? There is a vanilla note but it is kind of overpowered by the other smells. Like I said, the rice/sugar note really makes this unique and nice. All of my coworkers were looking at me like I was a crazy person taking pictures of it. it's ridiculous. on. I plan on giving another bottle to my little sister since I don't really need so many (I bought a pack of 5 for cheap which is why I had 5 to begin with). Well first Fragrantica ought to change the picture of this fragrance. Great for winter. Like most B&BW scents, it gives me a murderous headache the instant I detect it. This scent is pleasant even though I really only detect the vanilla. I bought it since second year college, and I have used up two full size body mists and two minis since then. I disagree with all these negative reviews. Did anybody use this? I bought it during the the fall wintery months. I smelled this from a colleague of mine and discovered it in a very interesting way. A little overpowering, may cause headaches. Not a good quality scent, at all. The scent lingers all throughout the hallway. Its' a cozy little fragrance that I would wear when I want to feel warm and fuzzy, and also for times when I didn't want to use my more expensive fragrances for the same effect. I am taking this back next time I go, I also prefer Vanilla Lace to this. I bought this over 4 years ago and I still have a ton of it. This is a sweet sugared vanilla scent reminiscent of a baking cake.
I SO wish that BBW would bring back the original, creamy comforting scent and stop reformulating their supposed "Signature" scents! Disappointing. The original formula was a beautiful toasted brown sugar and vanilla cake scent .It had hints of coconut and was reminiscent of white rice. When I wear this fragrance I feel cozy and warm. I consider this a younger woman's introduction to vanilla fragrances. someone's into Le Male by Gaultier. This is like a warm simple yet fancy sophisticated fragrance! I love vanilla. Typical Bath and Body Works formulationgeneric..???.kinda. Dear B&BW: Please bring the old Warm Vanilla Sugar back the one you sold in around early 2000s along with the skinny tube lip balm that tasted so amazing every time I applied - lots of brown sugar, vanilla, and caramel flavoring. Nothing special, still looking for an awesome Vanilla perfume. It is unique and hard to describe. Deodorant soaps were big in the90s (think Zest, Irish Spring, and Lever 2000), so of course BBW had to develop its own natural version. very sweet but not sickly sweet to the point that its nauseating. Good thing I only bought a small bottle. It doesn't smell cheap or like its made for little kids and teenagers. I so wanted to like Warm Vanilla Sugar. it smells really delictable and the vanilla is not too sweet nor synthetic like the other 2 i mentioned. Note from the submitter: This body wash was returned to my store during the Christmas rush and thanks to the lenient return policy, the customer got store credit. its very delicious! It never fails to add a warm softness and depth to any of my sweeter perfumes. Sweet and quite sugary. What happened to the other notes? This splash was part of its original 1999 fall line, which also included Spiced Vanilla, Orchard-Fresh Pear, and the famous Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. But sadly, this has no silage after 10 minutes. I don't ever really use this except for maybe Thanksgiving. It's just OK. I love it! Kind of like the old-fashioned aftershaves. This smells nothing like vanilla, at all. I wouldn't purchase itbut I think the coconut is what saves it for me. They changed the original formulation after 2004-2006. I smelt other vanilla things ALMOST like this but not the same! Definitely nicest in the fall or winter-as it is warm vanilla sugar-a cozy scent that will warm you right up;) the new formula isn't so good, especially the lotion smells like plastic..and the edt is watered down and dissipated so fast. It is that good. This is sweet cozy, smells like honey, coconut, and vanilla. Not horriblebut not my taste. Warm Vanilla Sugar (WVS)is my all around favorite BBW Scent especially for Autumn/Winter.
It's an affordable vanilla that can be layered and is perfect for the holidays. The floral notes in this keep it from being a cupcakey vanilla smell like many other perfumes that smell cheap and synthetic.. Is it me, or did back in the day did this smell different? Then, it seemed roo light for me at night and I switched to hypnotic poison. So sweet! everyone says that fragrances like jessica simpson fancy, aquolina pink sugar, britney spears fantasy, etcetc smells like cupcakes/cookies/sweets nope. This style is also reflected in the relaunched aromatherapy line. I loved to layer it with B&BW's Snowflakes in Cashmere once the winter months rolled around and had more than a few people stop and ask me what I was wearing or tell me that I smelled good. Always a classic! Perfection. Coco Cabana Body Splash, Special Edition Summer Fragrance, late 1990s? Vanilla AND sugar in the title? so this is my new fave yumm vanilla scent which kindda reminds me of baked goods, a lil chocolate and a very yumm vanilla. When I say "back in the day" I'm sure a lot of people will know what I mean as in, early 2000s? I'm not ashamed to admit it! I can't hardly stop wearing it. Of course, since then, BBW has gotten more and more into fall. Its not terrible but I have better vanillas in my collection. The musk and sandalwood add a nice warm touch to the sugary vanilla. On me, this is what a vanilla fragrance should smell like. I also use the warm vanilla sugar shower gel which is quite amazing. I can think of quite a few other perfumes that I'll have to try this with. So, not something I'll be wearing out, but definitely something I'll keep around just for me when I want to snuggle up in a sweater. If you have one of the first ones, enjoy! I sprayed it on, and I didn't smell the delicious, classic vanilla fragrance that so many have written about. It just gets overlooked by my other perfumes. If you think its too soon for fall stuff, dont tell that to BBW. What a great collection of vintage BBW products from a variety of lines and time periods. The Art Stuff products look to be from the early 2000s. My sexy vanillas are Dior hypnotic poison, Dior addict, .not really this. Ahhh Warm Vanilla Sugar, one of the few great scents from the house of Bath and Body Works. I am a huge fan of vanilla and this is my all time favorite. Someone gave this to me for Christmas 2012. I mean its an absolute classic what more is there to say? Nice and sweet, very very warm. No one else that I knew in the univ has used it except for me. I just tried vanilla bean Noel last year, so wvs is kinda tied with bean Noel now, but this is much more complex and comforting than bean Noel. I personally don't think its sexy..maybe sensual. This is a basic, sweet vanilla that we adults can wear without feeling silly, though its not too grown up for teens. Lovely and sweet with a realy warm glow to it. I use the lotion, and it is a little stronger. Perfume lovers: 792,176 It's not too sweet, and the coconut is really subtle, and something about this is really addicting to me. Maybe it's because I've smelled too many sickeningly sweet and fruity or synthetically vanilla "perfumes" butI disagree that it smells too cloyingly sweetI was expecting it to..between the name and the company it's from I didn't exactly have high expectations. It's a very comforting vanilla sugary scent. Also, the new perfume smells different than the old version, and I like the old better, I must say. It's a musky, sugary sweet vanilla sandalwood and rice..the sugar and rice nuances is really what makes the vanilla pop so irresistibly.
